Know Your (American 1950s - 1960s) Artists

All men this time - painting, at their peak in America in the 1950s and 1960s. Not to be too bleak but which one committed suicide? which one died in a car crash? which one was shot a whole load of times, and survived, but died on the operating table years later? Who left us just recently? and who's got a major retrospective on at present?.....

Heck - posted at five to two in the morning....!!

Still, even considering sleep deprivation a pretty good attempt, with all correct so far. So what about no's, 1; 2; 4; 5; 8; 10 ...? And who's the suicide, who left us recently, and who's got the retrospective?

(Looking forward to your talk on Thursday Natalie..)

All I can add at the moment is:
5. Robert Rauschenberg (who recently died)
8. Jim Dine

Mark Rothko commited suicide and Cy Twombly has a retrospective on at the Tate at the moment (through until September)

The bald guy has been niggling me all night. I was sure I knew who he was but just couldn't put my finger on it. Sure enough I looked through my old journals and came across him
4. Claes Oldenburg

That's me done. I can go to bed now

Ok - but you've still to get : -
1; 2; 10; 14

I'd have thought no. 10 was very easy - and no. 14 has a clue in the picture
